A better understanding of the role oligosaccharides play in biological systems has led to an increased demand for these materials. SynphaBase has further refined and focused its approach in this area for the synthesis of glycosides. Over the past 15 years, the SynphaBaseteam has carried out countless projects in this area, including the synthesis of several hundred grams on a scale of tetrasaccharides, pentasaccharides and even hexasaccharides. In one project, 25 kg of a monosaccharide were produced in six steps. The success rate of these projects at SynphaBase is extremely high and is based on three competencies: synthetic strategy skills, preparative skills and understanding of experimental data (mainly during the reaction and interpretation of NMR data).
